Sunscreen that is Safe for Coral Reefs and Safe for You

We are all looking for a sunscreen that protects us from harmful UV rays in an effective, risk-free manner.  Unfortunately the search is not all that easy, and finding one kids will tolerate and adults will accept from an appearance standpoint is further complicated by emerging studies that suggest that some sunscreens contain ingredients that pose health risks to both people and the environment. 

Why Companies Claiming to be Reef Safe Are Not Necessarily Safe for Reefs or Children

New claims about sunscreens deemed safe for coral reefs, biodegradable and safe for children have emerged fairly recently. However, some of the sunscreens include ingredients like oxybenzone, octyl methoxycinnamate, propylene glycol, methyl paraben, propyl paraben and fragrance. Are these ingredients as safe as they claim?
