Eye puffiness, dark circles and crow’s feet are all inevitable signs of aging—even though they can start appearing as early as your mid twenties.
Softening crow's feet around the eyes is best accomplished by eliminating the cause, which is in most cases is the result of excessive squinting. Unlike Botox that paralyzes the muscles that surround the eye (leading to drooping eyelids and eventual muscle atrophy), we relax facial tension by applying neuropeptides that work to reduce frequency of muscle contractions, i.e., squinting. This helps prevent wrinkles from forming in the first place.
Dark circles, another common complaint, can be alleviated by peptides that increase microcirculation under the eyes. Better microcirculation helps the body to break down coagulated blood and carry away toxins, reducing the bruised appearance. Other enzyme inhibiting peptides work to reduce melanin production, thereby creating a lightening effect. Still other ingredients diminish appearance of dark circles in a cosmetic manner, by reflecting light so the area looks less dark.
