Acne is often a chronic condition that requires consistent, long-term care to keep it under control. That’s why we choose our ingredients very carefully so they work effectively, without any downside effects—even when used for a prolonged period of time.
KEY INGREDIENTS
Salicylic acid
This beta-hydroxy acid (BHA) dissolves skin protein from the outside in, so it loosens dead cell build-up trapped in pores. It also exfoliates excess dead surface cells, thereby increasing the body’s resistance to irritation and infection.
Lactic acid
This alpha-hydroxy acid (AHA) is an effective exfoliant that also has significant anti-aging benefits, such as increasing production of natural ceramides to prevent moisture loss. This is crucial when it comes to treating adult acne, as adult skin is more prone to inflammation, resulting in wrinkles and hyperpigmentation. Lactic acid also helps lighten post-acne hyperpigmentation.
Apple Cider Vinegar
This natural anti-microbial and antiseptic toner also contains valuable alpha-hydroxy acids that balance your skin’s natural pH levels. By restoring your skin's balance, apple cider vinegar helps ward off bacteria so pores are unblocked and breakouts are prevented.

Skin at almost any age can experience breakouts, but most flare-ups occur at puberty, and in cases of adult acne, for women between the ages of late twenties well into the forties and even fifties. There are four major contributors to acne formation, regardless of age:
- 1. hyperproliferation of skin cells that obstruct hair follicles
- 2. excess sebum production
- 3. colonization of P. acnes
- 4. inflammation
Most acne remedies on the market concentrate on causes 1, 3 and 4, and address cause 2, excess sebum production, by attempting to dry out oils on the surface of the skin. The results are hit or miss for teenagers and disastrous for adult acne sufferers, whose skins cannot tolerate harsh treatments. All of our acne treatment products are designed to treat the root cause of acne, excess sebum, in addition to residual effects like bacterial overgrowth and excess surface oil.
Our Treatment Cleanser uses alpha- and beta-hydroxy acids to unplug follicles that contribute to impaction as well as nature-friendly ingredients to kill bacteria that cause inflammation.
Most importantly, we do not believe that drying the skin’s surface is the way to eliminate acne—in fact, when skin is too dry it can become irritated and more susceptible to bacterial invasion. Rather than dry out the skin, we use ingredients that improve water barrier function. Keeping the protective barrier intact is a much better way to keep bacterial counts down. And to fight P. acnes specifically we use botanicals proven to be as effective as benzoyl peroxide in wiping out the acne-causing microbe. Benzoyl peroxide is known as a skin sensitizer that can, with overuse, cause a variety of skin problems, including irritation and extreme photosensitivity.

Shake all products well before use and keep out of direct sunlight. Use both morning and night for best results.
1 Cleanse
Massage 1-2 pumps of Treatment Cleanser onto dry or moist skin. Rinse well with warm water. Cleanser can also be applied with a soft facial towel or brush to better remove stubborn makeup or dirt. Gently pat face dry.

3 Replenish (Included in Acne Relief Kit)
While skin is still moist, rub a few drops of Treatment Oil between palms and massage onto face. This will help work the product into the skin, stimulating blood flow and reducing pore congestion.
4 Protect Day + Repair Night (Included in Acne Relief Kit)

Everyday Sheer Coverage SPF 20 daily. For best results, spread the coverage in outward and downward strokes.
